Certificates: Deaths:
Death certificates date from the 1st July 1837 ("September quarter") when civil registration took over from the parish records. Although registration was not compulsory until 1875 and some birth and marriage records may be missing, it is very hard to ignore a dead body so deaths did get registered in the years between 1837 and 1875. The intention is to obtain certificates for as many members of my direct ancestors as possible (see The Ancestors - page opens in a new window) and others that are of interest. Certificates are presented here as thumbnails, if you click on the thumbnail image it will display in a new window. Children that were stillborn were not registered.
